Sai Gopi

Meet Sai. He is 16 years old and lives in India. He is in the 9th grade and his favorite school subjects English and Hindi. He is doing well in school. But he missed classes approximately 52 days this year due to bleeding episodes. Sai has severe hemophilia A, and in the past year he has made many trips to the hospital to treat bleeds in his nose, right ankle, and right elbow. He has also had blood in his urine. The Siddhardha Medical College Hospital in Vijayawada provided factor injections to treat these bleeds. The hospital is 30 kilometers away by bus. Sai lives with his parents and older brother. Due to frequent seizures, his older brother cannot attend school at this time. His father is an agricultural laborer and his mother stays home to tend to the household. The family lives on about $190 per month but his father's income is not consistent. The live in a village in their own house. Their house has one bedroom, a hall and a kitchen. They prepare food with a gas stove. The house has electricity, running water, and they have a refrigerator. The bathroom is outside. Sai's previous sponsorship was terminated and he needs a new sponsor. Your sponsorship funds would help to pay for Sais medical care as well as his education.
