SCHOLARSHIP

Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today.

SCHOLARSHIPS

AN INVESTMENT IN KNOWLEDGE PAYS THE BEST INTEREST

Young people with bleeding disorders can have equal opportunity for post-secondary education and a bright future with our scholarship awards. A scholarship can range from $150 to $1,000 per program/academic year.

Since 2012, we have invested over $250,000 in 378 scholarships, which enabled 214 students to pursue their dream careers — resilient truck drivers, passionate university professors or aspiring engineers, computer scientists, accountants, business administrators, doctors, nurses, pharmacists, graphic artists, and even mariners.

Together with Sanofi Genzyme, we are excited to announce the new Save One Life Scholarship Program video series. This four-part series provides a deeper look into our programs in developing countries.

In October 2019, Save One Life had the privilege to visit India and the Philippines to meet with past and present scholarship recipients. At Save One Life we believe that every life affected by a bleeding disorder deserves a chance and hope for the future.

Our trip to India highlighted how an education provides an opportunity to help break the cycle of poverty our beneficiaries experience.

Our cameras captured the strength and vulnerability of scholarship recipients in the Philippines.

Azeez Thoufeeq, BA in Nursing and Midwifery, Kunnamkulam, India

I am writing to thank you for your generous scholarship. My mother placed me in an orphanage at the age of five. It was a lonely time and I had many bleeds as I was expected to perform physically challenging chores. I had a dream to become a nurse. Without your help I would never have succeeded. Today I have a job as a graduated nurse in the cardiology department of Iqraa Hospital with a reasonable salary. Your generosity has inspired me and I hope one day I will be able to help people with hemophilia achieve their goals just as you have helped me.

Michael Edem Attivor, BA in Communication Design, Kumasi, Ghana

Funding my university education for all four years was the best thing anyone could have done for me! As a senior high school student, I dreamed of going to university, but because I lost my dad and knew my mum did not have the finances, I was never sure it would be possible. Today my dream has come true. I express my sincere gratitude to Save One Life for contributing not only to my education, but also to my life. I knew I could not let you down, and this partly influenced my success as an honors student!
