Hello! My name is Anuj and I am 15 years old. I am in in the 10th grade. My favorite subject is social sciences. Someday I would like to work in IT on hardware design. When I am not in school I enjoy reading books and texting with my friends. I have been diagnosed with severe hemophilia A. I have experienced recent bleeds to my elbows and knees. I receive infusions at the hospital as treatment. The hospital is 30km from my home which takes me and hour and a half to get there via motorcyle. I would benefit from physiotherapy but there is not a treatment facility in my town. My father works two jobs, as a security guard and an agricultural laborer, earning a total of $100 a month. My mother is a housewife. All of my siblings are students. My brother, Kundan, also has hemophilia, and my sister, Vandana, is a carrier. We speak Hindi in our home, and members of my family can read English as well. We live in a 4-room housein the village ofGwalipalasia, India. Our home is equipped with basic amenities, including a refrigerator and indoor plumbing. Meals are cooked over a small gas stove. Our home is in generally good condition and is well cared for.
