Samadhan Dattatray

Hello! My name is Samadhan and I am 24 years old. I work in a construction office when I am able to. I have missed a lot of work in the last year because of bleeds. When I am not working, I enjoy reading the newspaper and watching T.V. One day, I would like to start my own business. I have severe hemophilia A. When I have a bleed, I have to travel 15 kilometers to the hospital which is a significant expense for my poor family. My family only makes $200 a month. I was also able to attend the local celebration for World Hemophilia Day and the Hemophilia Societys Silver Jubilee Program which were inspiring. I live at home with my parents and my brother in a one-room hut in the city of Pune. My mother works as a housekeeper and my father is a laborer. My brother is in school. Our house is a simple shelter made of tin. It is in poor condition. It does not have a door and is in need of major repairs. We prepare meals on a kerosene burner outside. We must get our water outside the house as well and we have no indoor toilet facilities.
