Glendo

Ref# PHQZ015

Glendo
My name is Glendo and I am 19 years old. I am in the 6th grade because I had to miss a lot of school when I was younger due to bleeds. My favorite school subject is science and I would like to become a computer programmer when I am finished. Outside of school, I like to help my mother around the house. I have severe Hemophilia A and I have had bleeds in my elbows, knees and ankles. I have limited mobility in both of my knees because of past bleeds. I would benefit from physiotherapy, but my family cannot afford it. In 2015, I had a brain bleed which was very scary. The nearest hospital is an hour away by bus. This great distance makes accessing health care difficult and poses a threat in the case of a bleeding emergency. I live with his parents, five younger brothers, and one younger sister. Three of my brothers have hemophilia as well. My father works as a security guard and earns $200 a month. Our entire family is living in my aunt's 3-room house, where we currently all occupy the living room because the other rooms are filled with other relatives.
