Carlos Eduardo

This is Carlos, he is 15 years old and lives in Honduras. He is in the 8th grade and making good progress with his studies. When he grows up, he aspires to become a doctor. Outside of school, he likes to draw and play soccer. In the past year, he has required hospital treatment for bleeds in his knee. The hospital gave him pain medication and factor at the hospital to help minimize the swelling. Thankfully, the hospital is only 30 minutes away and costs about $5 to get to by taxi. His knee joint has limited range of motion due to past bleeding episodes. Carlos lives at home with his mom, aunt, uncle, grandmother, and younger brother. His mother sells food, his grandmother sells candy, and his uncle sells various items. His aunt is a seamstress. It is a hard working family, but they only combine to earn $250 per month.
