Praveen

Ref# INBG028

Praveen
This is Praveen. He is 15 years old and he has moderate hemophilia A. He is in the 8th grade. He is a very good student. His favorite subject is math. He loves his teachers and friends at school. He would like to be an engineer when he grows up. He also likes to perform in school plays. Praveen has had about 10 bleeds in the past year, mainly in his right knee and his right elbow. When he has a bleed, he travels by bus or auto-rickshaw to the hospital for treatment. The hospital is about 40 kilometers from his home and each trip costs about $15. This is very expensive for his family. Praveen lives with my parents and older brother. My father is a farmer. He makes about $200-$250 per month, but his income is seasonal. They live in a small house in a village outside of Bangalore. It is made of concrete. They cook on a gas stove. Their home has a refrigerator, indoor bathroom and running water. It is well cared for and in good condition. Sponsorship funds will support Praveen's education.
