Kerby
Hello! My name is Kerby and I am 19 years old. I am working towards earning my bachelors degree at a local college. I am a very dedicated student and am doing well with my studies. I would like to get a job working in IT once I graduate. I am part of the chess club at school and recently won at a chess tournament. I enjoy reading books and playing computer games in my free time. I have been diagnosed with severe hemophilia A. I needed to have the lower half of my leg amputated in 2011 due to complications from untreated bleeds. Having a physical disability adds to my challenges. I live with my father, Domingo, age 55; my mother, Leonor, age 52; and my brother, Gilbert, age 24. My father work as a farmer and my brother works in a factory earning an average monthly income of $125 a month. My family speaks our native language, Cebuano Visayan. We are also able to read, write and speak English. My family owns a two-room home in a town outside of Cagayan de Oro in the Philippines. Our home is made of concrete and has electricity. We do not have a refrigerator or indoor plumbing. We access water and toilet facilities outside. Food is prepared on a wood/charcoal fireplace. I have been part of the Save One Life sponsorship program since 2012. My sponsor recently discontinued their participation in the program, so I am in need of a new sponsor.
