Sapnaz

This is Sapnaz. She is 23 years old and she lives in India. She has von Willebrand disease. Sapnaz is enrolled in a bachelors degree program. Her major is economics. This has made is harder to do well in school, but she is making very good progress. Some of her bleeding episodes were major and required treatment at the nearest hospital. She travels 13 kilometers by bus to get to the hospital. Sapnaz lives with her mother, her 27-year old sister, and her 4-year-old nephew. Her mother is a beedi worker. She makes beedis, which are a type of cigarette. Their monthly income is about $100.They live in a 4-room house in a village. They own their house.
