Kamaruddeen
Hello! My name is Kamaruddeen and I am 15 years old. I am in the 9th grade and my favorite school subject is biology. When I am not in school, I like to play indoor games with my friends. I have severe hemophilia A. This past year, I have had bleeds in my arms, elbows, knees, and ankles. My parents helped me treat these episodes with factor and ice packs. I receive physiotherapy to help strengthen my joints and keep them healthy. From left: Thahira (mother), Thabsheer (brother), Thwaiba (sister), Myself, and Basheer (father) I live at home with my parents, my brother, and my sister. My father is a fisherman and makes about $50 a month. My mother stays at home to take care of us. My brother, Thabsheer, also has hemophilia. We speak the Malayalam language in our home. I can read and write in English as well. We live in a two-room home in the village of Kasargod, India. Our home has electricity and running water, however, we do not own a refrigerator. Meals are cooked over a wood or charcoal fire.
