Kangkan Jyoti Kalita: On the Way to Becoming a Doctor

Fighting with ups and downs I’m standing as a warrior and I’m glad to inform you that with a lot of hard work and dedication I have recently cracked the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2022 exam (a national exam carried out for medical aspirants enabling them to seek admissions to medical courses across different medical institutes of the country) and been able to get a seat in MBBS in Assam Medical College, Dibrugarh.

It’s like a dream come true for me. I didn’t ever imagine this would be possible because during my schooling, my parents faced a lot of financial hurdles and even today we are dealing with it. Although it’s a Government Medical College, fees are still very high. But I feel blessed because of Save One Life (SOL) as today I’m on the way to becoming a doctor.

Thanks to interacting with other hemophiliac kids and the entire community, my condition and my dream blended together and I decided to become a doctor. Now, I am in my final year of medical school and you have been a very important part of my journey.

Every year, the sponsorship was a tremendous help. Your help was unhoped-for and it gave me the stepping stone I needed to start believing I can become whatever I want because there would always be help along the way.

Chetan: MEGs Changing Lives

I used to get offered independent projects, but I couldn’t accept them. Due to low project budgets, producers don’t like to pay studio costs. Only editors with their own iMac were given the project. After receiving the iMac through Micro Enterprise on 19th August 2020, there was a change in my working.

I would like to say that due to this granted computer, my income has increased, my confidence has grown and my skills have improved. In this industry, people are working on different software to meet industry requirements and to fulfill these different softwares requirements, the iMac is very helpful to me.  I do a lot of practice and keep learning new things to remain updated.

Charity Nyoro: Motorcycle Project

Motorcycles are a major means of transport, a cheaper and faster transportation option for short distances and delivery services. School children use ‘boda bodas’ a lot to ply to and from school, especially those who live far from the school— including Charity’s son who has to use a ‘boda boda’ daily to prevent bleeding from walking long distances.

Charity and I collected her motorcycle on the 23rd of December, 2021, and it has been operational since 24th December excluding 2 days when the bike was taken for service. Charity and her husband are beyond grateful for their new project. They have already started earning  income from the project  which will be used to take care of all medical expenses for their hemophiliac son, Peter, as well as other family expenses.
